The Fonda packaging has been designed to look inviting. The packaging materials were carefully selected for their ability to preserve the quality of our products all through transport and storage. We recognise that the materials in question are not readily degradable, so we hope that you will follow the instructions below when disposing of the packaging.
The bag is made of polyethylene and is intended to prevent any leaking from the polystyrene box. The bag is long-lasting and can be reused. When you no longer need it, please throw it in a bin for plastic waste so it can be recycled. Polyethylene in itself is not a biodegradable material; in the air and sunlight, it will eventually biodegrade into harmless products such as carbon dioxide and water, but this is a process that can take several years.
The wrapping paper is also made of polyethylene and is intended to protect the fish from drying out. You can use it to cover the kitchen counter while cleaning the fish. When you no longer need it, please throw it in a bin for plastic waste so it can be recycled.
The box is made of polystyrene, taking advantage of the excellent insulation properties of this material. You can reuse the box as a mini cooler, use it to store tools or plant flowers in it. When you no longer need it, please throw it in a bin for plastic waste so it can be recycled.
The cold pack contains gelatinous granules that bind water and keep our products cool for a long time. Cold packs can also be reused – simply wash them and store them in the freezer. Alternatively you can dry the pack, then briefly soak it in water and place in the freezer when required. Our supplier has confirmed that the packs are entirely harmless for the environment. When you no longer need the cold pack, you can throw it in the general waste bin.
You can also return any unwanted packaging to our delivery staff and we will make sure that the packaging is properly recycled.
